As an affiliate marketer, I understand how frustrating it is to work hard on your website, learn everything you can, apply the information you absorb, try to improve the user experience and the content you spend long hours crafting each day, just to see that no one is considering your recommendations, taking your advice or buying your products.
Seeing conversions is what will motivate you and encourage you to do more with your business, give you the boost of energy you need to keep moving and growing your site.
The real truth is that enjoying the results of our hard labor takes time and dedication, that’s why no matter how tough things will get, we have to be patient, keep doing our best and never give up.
This is a big wall all affiliate marketer will run into, but nothing too fatal. So, today I wanted to talk about some of the reasons you are still not making money with your website and by shining a light on this list, you can make some adjustments to start seeing the sparks of success.
Let’s get started.
1. You haven’t been doing this long enough
Patience is key here. The fact that you’re still new or just got started in a new business can contribute to a certain degree because when promoting something, traffic is what you need, and to get that traffic you must work hard and wait for it.
It takes time to build credibility and authority for your website. Don’t give up and get discouraged easily, it may sometimes take from 3 months to a year before your start seeing clicks and then conversions. Track your links, monitor everything on your site and tweak things to help people find what they are looking for.
There are many ways to get traffic and clicks, but don’t overwhelm yourself by trying everything at the same time, test, invest and scale and good things will happen.
2. You use too many affiliate links on your posts
Using too many affiliate links in your writing will come off as spammy and somewhat greedy. We all hate spammers and will never be comfortable buying something from them. Treat your traffic as people with real interests and needs, not as potential buyers that will click on your links in fill your pockets with gold.
Use Pretty Link plugin to cloak your affiliate links and give them a nice looking name so you can use them wherever you want. You should also put them in image links and include that in your posts, so you don’t overload your readers with text links. You can also put them in widgets. Be creative here, it’s your website, you’re free to do whatever you want with it.
3. You readers don’t trust you (Yet)
As I mentioned in the beginning, to build trust, you need time. People instinctively don’t trust the new guy in town. So, be patient and work on providing value and helping your readers achieve whatever they came looking for on your website. If you are still new, you have nothing to worry about, but if you’ve been doing this for a while, you might consider your methods and the way you’re treating your business.
If the only thing on your mind is to sell to them, you’re in for a tough ride. Instead, focus on understanding their situations, their fears, their needs and why they came to your website in the first place. Put yourself in their position Visit This Link. That’s what will make them click on your links, take your word and follow your guidance.
4. You are not using your personal approach
This is related to the previous reason and is one that will make a big difference in your online career. If you’re doing what everyone else is doing, don’t be surprised that nobody’s paying attention to your site and the work you spend hours perfecting. Be unique, don’t copy other people’s work and try to come up with your style and strategies for your promotions.
It goes without saying that you should emulate what’s working out there, learn from your competition, from the best bloggers, implement some of their strategies and apply them using your own touch. As Bruce Lee once said:
5. You don’t provide enough value and information
There is a reason people are searching on the internet. They want to learn more, dig deeper, see what others are doing and thinking, read real reviews and genuine feedbacks about the services or the products they are going to invest in. Here is where you will shine because they need you to show them the best option to choose.
They want to learn from your experiences and what you’ve been through. If they wanted the same basic and boring information everyone knows about, they’d go straight to the vendor’s website. So, take this opportunity and be their savior and the person they will come back to over and over again.
Keep those 5 reasons in mind and work on improving each one as soon as you can. I am sure that after a while, you’ll start seeing good results, but only if you put the effort necessary to overcome each hurdle in your path. Don’t forget to be patient too. Don’t rush things, just be consistent and success will be a part of your daily habits.
